Central has a heart for missions – locally and globally. We encourage short-term missions trips and support a variety of missions.

Here are our primary Missions Partners:

North Burma Christian Mission: David & Norma Morse

David’s heart’s desire is to equip and build up the church through the production of Christian literature. As the son of missionary parents, Eugene and Helen Morse, he grew up in a Lisu village in north Burma. At a young age he saw the great need for literature and was burdened to help minority language groups have the written word in their heart language. Through font and computer software design, translation work, typing, proofing and distribution of literature, David and his team of Lisu coworkers have helped spread the Good News to 15 language groups throughout Southeast Asia. Norma helps at the literature office. She is also involved in Bible teaching and supporting the staff at one of the children’s homes.

Norm is the Translation Advisor to the Akukem language project in Papua New Guinea. At least once a year, for about 2-3 months, he travels from his home residence in Canada to work with the Akukem translation team. Together, they are working on drafting and revising select books of both the New and Old Testaments. Norm also provides the exegetical review of the whole Akukem translation.

Jill is a Registered Nurse who continues to work in a Calgary hospital, primarily in the area of maternity. She works with Pioneer Bible in a support role for Norm’s translation work as well as a variety of administration tasks. South India Rural Development Mission (SIRD) has established nine churches; sewing schools for women; a widow’s ministry; vocational training for children including computer and sewing; children’s ministries such as Bible classes, VBS and education supports, community support for floods and prosecution. It also has Mt. Moriah’s Christian Children’s Home for the orphaned and poor which gives them shelter, food and education. It currently houses 16 girls. The children’s home receives monthly government visits and evaluations that they pass with flying colors. Voice to the Nations (founded in 1993) supports all of these programs.

Voice is spreading the Word of God. The churches are growing and they are reaching many people. The men and women of the mission — Sam, his wife, his brothers and their wives and other people of the mission — are working hard daily to grow Christ’s kingdom and they are seeing many people come to the Lord.
