Central has a big heart. We strive to serve the least of these and share Jesus’ love with each other, as well as our community, province, country, and world. Below is a sampling of the compassion projects we are involved in each year.

Cancer Care Ministry

We care about people who are going through cancer treatment.

We offer a FREE Cancer Care Package for anyone in PEI undergoing chemo or radiation treatment.

Each HANDMADE bag is specially designed for the side effects of cancer treatment and contains: cozy socks, a journal & pen, hand sanitizer, lotion, lip balm, ginger candy, and more.

If you or someone you know is undergoing any form of cancer treatment, please contact us for a Cancer Care Package pickup (use subject line “Cancer Care”).

Love Month

February is love month at Central. We challenge every member of our church family to share Jesus’ love with friends, family, colleagues, and total strangers. People have prepared meals, given gift cards, supported struggling students, sent handmade notes of encouragement, and much more. Of course, we don’t limit loving to love month, but it is a great time to focus on love.

Coldest Night of the Year

Each year Central hosts and supports the Coldest Night of the Year, which is a walk which raises funds for Harvest House and the marginalized in Charlottetown and PEI.

Island Pregnancy Center

Central has a heart for parents with difficult pregnancies. We carry out several activities each year for the IPC. For example,

  • we support the baby bottle drive each year to help raise funds for IPC
  • we hosted a baby shower for families with newborn babies
  • we provide diapers and car seats

Backpacks for PEI children & youth

Each fall Central provides backpacks full of supplies for PEI kids and youth who are struggling – especially during the pandemic.

Operation Christmas Child

Central supports Operation Christmas Child, which sends boxes full of special gifts and love to children all over the globe. For many children, this is the first Christmas gift they’ve ever received or the only gift they will receive this year.

MP3 Players for Burmese Christians

We provided funds for 70 MP3 players loaded with songs, sermons, and Scriptures that were delivered to Christian’s in Burma (Myanmar) who cannot physically get to church (due to health or location).

Safe & Friendly Environment (SAFE)

We encourage SAFE by providing snacks, cleaning supplies, and cleaning services.

Graduation Celebration

We love to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates.

And, much much more.

  • Each small group carries out compassion ministry, as do many individuals.
  • We are always looking for opportunities to share Jesus’ love!
