I was raised in New England, just north of Boston, with my parents and younger brother and sister. From a very young age, I became an active member of our local Congregational church. I discovered my passion for worship and the arts by joining the church’s choir and offering solos for special services and events. My engagement in the Church and regional choirs followed me to Syracuse University, where I received my B.F.A. in Drama & Music. During my studies at Syracuse, I met my wife, Micheline, and we married after her graduation.
We moved to New York City together to pursue our passion for the performing arts. Micheline traveled with theatrical productions and got to sing with Kelly Clarkson in Rockefeller Center’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve event. I was invited to be a part of Second City’s opening gala at NBC Studios when they opened a training center in Manhattan. During this time, we became active members at a local church. After our time in New York City, God revealed to me my calling to pastorship. And so, I applied to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in New England.
In 2009, I received my M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell and embarked upon my first pastoral position serving as Pastor of Worship Arts at First Baptist Church in Amherst, Massachusetts. I was then called to serve as Lead Pastor at nearby Greenwoods Community Church in western Mass.
During my time at Greenwoods, I was invited by Gordon-Conwell to join the Okenga Fellows, a small cohort of New England pastors, to study Faith’s engagement in technology, science, education, and culture. In 2019, the Fellows and I traveled through China to deepen our understanding of committed faith in Christ in the house church movement. On this journey, we witnessed the power and importance of our calling to the global Church community. The culmination of my time with the Ockenga Fellows resulted in our book, Beholding Beauty – Worshiping God through the Arts, published in 2022. Each of us contributed a chapter exploring how the beauty of worship can be reclaimed in our churches.
When God opened the door for us to move to PEI, it became very clear that Central Christian Church was where He wanted us. We feel privileged to serve in this loving community, and we look forward to growing with our church family in our new home here.
Micheline and I have two daughters: Makenna and Ceanna (both attending Colonel Gray High School).
